LICENSED
vs. UNLICENSED RADIO SYSTEMS: While our SCADA systems
may use either licensed or unlicensed radios, we feel there are compelling reasons for licensed
systems. Due to numerous constraints by the FCC on
power, antenna height, ERP, etc., and because these systems may be
significantly impacted by high-power 900 MHz paging systems,
cellular systems, foliage and terrain, at the minimum, a complete
engineering study should be undertaken. ATSI obtains FCC licenses for clients in the most crowded RF environment in the
nation, southern California. We license clients in southern as well as
northern California, and for that
matter, all over the US. Our 30+ years experience has allowed us to be 100% successful.

ATSI SCADA systems are
typically designed in a DCS (Distributed
Control System)
format, where control logic resides in the field rather
than on a host computer. The DCS format allows
enhanced reliability, as the system is not depend
upon a computer whose failure could cause the entire system
to fail.
